COMPASSIONATE HEARTS of JESUS and MARY

AWARE of the presence of fear, bigotry and hate in our world a new international, ecumenical, online Spiritual Association of the Compassionate Hearts of Jesus and Mary (CCHJM), has been created to assist members in developing the virtue of compassion.

The Aim of CCHJM is to develop a compassionate heart for the sake of the world: its Purpose to nurture compassion.  There’s a simple Rule:

  • spend time each day in the presence of the Heart of Jesus;
  • express compassion practically;
  • reflect daily on one's practice of compassion;
  • recognise the value of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

You can join without adopting this Rule by becoming an Associate.

CCHJM has the approval and support of the Bishop of Southwark.  It’s free to join and there aren’t any meetings to attend.  You can leave a comment here or join by visiting: www.cchjm.org

The soul is in God and God in the soul, just as the fish is in the sea and the sea in the fish. (S. Catherine of Siena: Dialogue 2)

Share the same love, be one in soul and mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition, look out for each other's interests, not just for your own.

Here is a link to our latest 'Compassion Quarterly'. In it you’ll find information about some of the developments that have occurred since the launch of the Association, most importantly that we’ve been given Episcopal Approval by the (Anglican) Bishop of Southwark. In addition we have:

+ published various articles including: Propers for a Eucharist of the Divine Compassion of Jesus; Devotion to the Sacred Heart for non-RC's; Prayer Practice for Sitting in the Compassionate Gaze of Jesus ...
+ set up a Twitter hashtag (#cchjm123) where daily tweets are normally posted;

There are also new articles by two of our Members. Hope you find the issue of interest and help.

Mercy is a property full of pity which belongs to the motherhood [of Christ] in tender love. (Julian of Norwich)

'May the centre of my being, be one with the Heart of Christ' (Mantric Prayer for Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus)

‘[Is] the full emergence of the glory of the mind of Christ. The alternative orthodoxy begins in a view that God is not opposed to us; God is for us. How is God served by people who fail to germinate? God is rapturously delighted in every human being whose heart breaks open and blooms. Then, as human beings come to their glory, the world comes to its glory. It’s a view which is inclusive, recognizing that human beings on all paths are called to glorification, to the full emergence of the human being. It’s evolutionary in that we are a work in progress, both individually and collectively. Creation itself is not static but dynamic.’*
